Youth Trips

Each year, Prairie Land Electric Cooperative, Inc. sponsors a Youth Program Contest for high school juniors from our service area to have the opportunity to win one of four all-expense-paid trips to Washington, D.C. or Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

In 2026, the Youth Tour dates are June 13-19 and the Camp dates are July 10-16.

Applications are available each November. You can find them in your December bill insert, in the Kansas Country Living magazine, from your high school counselor or you can complete the webform available on this page during the application period. A touch screen is needed to sign, or you can submit with the date and sign later. Applications are due by Jan. 2, 2026.

Applicants are required to complete a self-paced examination over study material that is provided to them after the application is received. We plan to conduct personal interviews on January 25. A secondary date of February 1 has been set in case the interviews are postponed due to inclement weather.
