Youth Trips

The application deadline was Jan. 2, 2026 at 5 p.m.

Each year, Prairie Land Electric Cooperative, Inc. sponsored a Youth Program Contest for high school juniors from its service area, offering the opportunity to win one of four all-expense-paid trips to Washington, D.C., or Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

In 2026, the Youth Tour dates were June 13–19, and the Camp dates were July 10–16.

Applications opened annually in mid to late November. They were available in the December bill insert, from high school counselors, or through the webform available on this page during the application period. A touch screen was required to sign, or applicants could submit with the date and sign later. Applications were due by Jan. 2, 2026.

Applicants were required to complete a self-paced examination covering study material that was provided after the application was received. Personal interviews were conducted on Jan. 25.
