As outlined in the cooperative’s bylaws, a Nominating Committee met on Dec. 15, 2026, and selected the following candidates to run for the trustee election positions in this year’s election:
DISTRICT 1 – Cheyenne, Rawlins, Sherman and Thomas counties. MIKE ROGERS of Saint Francis currently holds this position.
DISTRICT 2 – Decatur, Norton and Phillips counties. KEITH ROSS of Long Island currently holds this position.
DISTRICT 4 – Smith, Jewell, Osborne, and Mitchell counties. RON GRIFFITH of Smith Center currently holds this position.
DISTRICT 5 – Republic, Washington, Cloud, and Clay counties. LOWELL THOMAN of Concordia currently holds this position.
There were no candidates nominated by petition, as is also allowed by the bylaws.
The cooperative’s bylaws further outline that voting in the trustee election will be done on an “at-large” basis, meaning Prairie Land members are entitled to vote for candidates in all four of the trustee election districts.
Voting materials will be mailed to Prairie Land members BY FRIDAY, JAN. 23, 2026. The bylaws, as amended, require the use of mail ballots for trustee elections. The mailing includes candidates’ bios along with the following:
(1) a trustee election ballot;
(2) a ballot envelope; and
(3) a “BUSINESS REPLY MAIL” return envelope.
Once you receive the mailing, please do the following to cast your vote:
- Mark the ballot and place it in the envelope marked “For Ballot Only.” Please do not place anything else in the ballot envelope.
- Place the ballot envelope in the “BUSINESS REPLY MAIL” return envelope and mail it back to Prairie Land. The postage is pre-paid and guaranteed by the cooperative.
BALLOTS MUST BE RECEIVED AT THE NORTON OFFICE BY 5 P.M. ON TUESDAY, FEB. 10, 2026. An election and credentials committee will count the ballots by Feb. 20, 2026, and the election results will then be announced to members.
